HAM AND CHEESE TOASTIE

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices of sandwich bread
  • 2 slices of chicken, ham or other deli meat
  • 2 slices of your favourite cheese (we recommend jarlsberg) 

METHOD

  1. Prepare two sandwiches with the bread, deli meat and cheese.
  2. Place the sandwiches in the MicroPro Grill and place the cover on the grill / low position
  3. Microwave for 4 minutes
  4. Flip the sandwiches using a Tupperware Spatula or Tongs. Microwave sandwiches for an additional 1–2 min.
  5. Serve immediately

 

CROQUE MONSIEUR

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cooking Time: 8 minutes (per sandwich) / Makes 2 sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

  •  4 slices sandwich bread
  • 75g shaved ham
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Soft butter, for spreading

Quick Bechamel Sauce:

  • 20g butter
  • 2 teaspoons plain flour
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1/3 cup grated extra tasty or Gruyere cheese, plus extra 1/3 cup for assembling

 

METHOD:

1. Bechamel Sauce: Place butter in a 1 Litre Pitcher. Melt in microwave on High/100% for 20 seconds. Whisk in flour, cook a further 20-30 seconds. Whisk in milk until smooth, cook for 60 seconds, or until thickened. Stir in cheese.

2. Divide Bechamel Sauce between two slices of bread. Top each with ham and extra cheese if using. Spread ½ teaspoon of mustard over the remaining bread. Assemble sandwich. Spread over a little butter.

3. Place a sandwich into a MicroPro Grill and add the cover in the low position. Cook for 4 minutes, depending on wattage, until golden and cheese has melted.

4. Flip the sandwich and cook for an extra 1-2 minutes until golden. Cut in half and serve immediately. Repeat with remaining sandwich.

 

MAC N CHEESE TOASTIE

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cooking Time: 6 minutes (16 minutes if making mac ‘n’cheese) / Makes 2 sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • Optional 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup leftover mac’n’cheese
  • Extra grated or sliced tasty cheese
  • Soft butter, for spreading

Method:

  1. If using mustard, spread ½ teaspoon of mustard over two slices of bread.
  2. Place ½ cup cold mac ‘n’ cheese on the bread. Top with extra cheese then the remaining bread. Spread with a little butter.
  3. Place a sandwich into a MicroPro Grill and add the cover in the low position. Cook for 4 minutes, depending on wattage until golden and cheese has melted.
  4. Flip the sandwich and cook for an extra 1-2 minutes until golden.
  5. Cut in half and serve immediately. Repeat with remaining sandwich.

 

TupperTip: For a quick mac’n’cheese: Cook 50g macaroni. Drain and return to a small saucepan with 50g grated cheese and 50ml cream. Stir until smooth.

 

JAM AND CREAM CHEESE TOASTIE

Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cooking Time: 6 minutes (per sandwich) / Makes 2 sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 teaspoons soft butter, plus extra for spreading
  • 2 tablespoons spreadable or soft cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon raspberry, blueberry or strawberry jam

METHOD:

  1. Spread 1 teaspoon butter over two slices of bread.
  2. Spread over 1 tablespoon cream cheese then 2 teaspoons jam. Top with remaining bread. Spread with a little extra butter.
  3. Place a sandwich into a MicroPro Grill and add the cover in the low position. Cook for 4 minutes, depending on wattage until golden.
  4. Flip the sandwich and cook for an extra 1-2 minutes until golden.
  5. Cut in half and serve immediately. Repeat with remaining sandwich.
