Mulled Wine Recipe
Mulled wine is a classic holiday drink that we look forward to making every time the holidays come around. It's packed with the comforting flavors of cinnamon, citrus, and cloves! Our mulled wine recipe is easy to make and guaranteed to fill your home and spirits with holiday cheer.
INGREDIENTS
- 4-6 whole cloves
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 4 tablespoons of honey
- 2 oranges
- 1 bottle of red wine
- Optional: 1/4 cup of brandy
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large pot, pour in the bottle of wine. Add the juice of one orange in toss in the slices from the second orange.
- Drop in the cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise and any additional spices you like
- Stir in honey, tasting as you go to achieve your desired level of sweetness.
- Place the pot on low to medium heat and let it warm gently. Do not let it boil—this preserves the alcohol and prevents the spices from becoming bitter.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld the flavors.
- Optional: Stir in brandy for extra warmth, or add cranberries for a festive touch.
- When serving, strain the mulled wine into your big-T Tumbler, garnishing with a cinnamon stick or an orange slice for a festive finish. Enjoy!
