Apple Crumble

SERVES 4 Persons PREPARATION TIME 10 min. COOKING TIME 25 min.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 medium Granny Smith apples (750g), peeled, sliced
  • 6 Medjool (fresh) dates, pitted, quartered lengthways
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
Topping
  • 3/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 75 g butter, cut into small cubes

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Place apple, dates, sugar and water in an UltraPro® 1.5L Round Base. Cook in microwave on high/100%/900 watts for 5 minutes to soften. Stir halfway through cooking time.
  2. For the topping: Combine flour, oats and sugar together in a Mixing Bowl. Rub in butter until mixture clumps together. Sprinkle over apples and bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until golden. Serve with cream or ice cream.
