Facebook Policy
The internet is an ever growing phenomenon, and harnessing its power to speak to consumers is a much-discussed problem for marketers, advertisers and companies alike. Tupperware launched its Facebook page in 2010, and since then, we’ve mustered an impressive 15,000+ fans, who are regularly updated about Previews, Catalogues, competitions and product updates.
However, in order to maintain some sense of uniformity and continuity, we do not allow Demonstrators and Managers to advertise their Tupperware businesses on Facebook. Nor do we allow posts on our own Facebook wall, spruiking for parties. Why?
Simply put, we have thousands of Demonstrators all across Australia and New Zealand. While we understand your desire to communicate across this exciting new medium, if we allowed Demonstrators to create Facebook pages advertising their businesses, Facebook would soon be covered in thousands of them. Similarly, if we allowed Demonstrators to spruik parties on the wall of our Facebook page, our wall would soon be nothing more than a series of posts, advertising Demonstrations in various locations.
Channels already exist through which consumers can find out how they can host a party – the Customer Information Line, and the Find a Director facility on our Consumer websites.
Please refrain from posting party invitations on our Facebook wall. These will be removed as a matter of policy and offending users will be banned from the page. While you are certainly encouraged to discuss your Tupperware business amongst your Facebook friends, please refrain from creating pages specifically for your Tupperware business, or advertising your Tupperware businesses on public facing pages (ie, pages where people who are not Friends of the Page Owner can still see all the content therein).
If you have any questions about this policy, please speak to your Manager or Director.
