Calling all Demonstrators

‘While the cat is away…’!

Many of you will soon be waving your Manager farewell as they hop on a plane to represent you in Kuala Lumpur.

They will be experiencing mixed feelings of excitement, pride and nervousness.

There is no doubt that a Manager Conference is one of the highlights of every Manager’s calendar. Nothing can compare to the pride of representing the achievements of the team they lead and having them acknowledged in front of all their peers from across Australia and New Zealand.

Put yourself in their shoes; imagine how you would feel hearing the team name you have chosen called out and seeing it up on the big screen… running up on stage to applause and cheers; recognizing your team’s efforts for a job well done!

Your Manager will be returning to you on a high. Apart from the amazing recognition they will also be participating in some great training and interacting with many other Managers; learning fresh ideas and getting new inspiration.

Make sure your Manager comes home to lots of exciting news to keep their positive and infectious enthusiasm going. There would be nothing worse than coming back to you all excited only to find the team has been ‘napping’ while they were away.

Show your loyalty and ‘play hard’ to give your Manager (and your Director) a few great surprises on their return!

Here are some tips to make this separation easier for both of you…

Together with your team mates set a goal to achieve while your Manager is away
You can set goals in different areas such as:
• Number of parties held
• Sales achieved
• Number of new bookings into the following 2-3 weeks
• Number of recruit leads
• Aim to move up a couple of levels on the United Sales board.

Create some fun competition
You can either have some fun competing as smaller groups among your own team or between your Unit and another Unit of a similar size within your Distributorship.
Find out your Manager’s available time slots for the week after they return.
You can use this information to book in appointments for them. Imagine how surprised and excited they will be when you let them know you have arranged times for them to call hot recruit leads or booked in interviews and even Announcement Parties!

Stay connected as a team to support each other
Establish a team phone list or ‘buddy up’ new and established Demonstrators. Make sure you know the office hours at your Distributorship and find out who can help with particular queries.

Support the Manager Designate in your team
Your Manager may have allocated one or more people to help look after the team while they are away. This will be an exciting and nervous time for these people so get behind them and help them out as much as you can.

Note: Reporting on time is a simple thing each team member can do to make their job easier.

Use the support tools at your disposal
If you haven’t done so for a while, familiarise yourself with the Demonstrator Guide to Success manual and DVDs. There is so much good information in this training to help you with every area of your business.

This information is often even more meaningful once you have held parties; you will notice tips and hints that went ‘over your head’ when you were new. They say … ‘the teacher comes when the student is ready…’ and you may now be ready to take on more.

Play hard and have fun!!
Most importantly, have a great time pulling together as a team and making your Manager even more proud. Show them what you can achieve individually and together and let them know that the faith they have their fabulous team is well founded.
