Dear Brownie

Dear Brownie

I love all our products and demonstrating my parties, however lately I’ve been feeling a little like someone “hits play at the start” and I sound like a recording during my demo.  I’m worried that I’ve lost my freshness and think that this could be affecting my dating from parties.  What do you suggest I do?

Dear Tania

Congratulations for casting a critical eye over your demonstration and seeking inspiration and advice. I firmly believe that if you stop learning, you stop enjoying life to the fullest.  My suggestions to rejuvenate your parties are:

  • Research – Watch what other Demonstrators do at parties, go to sales meeting, watch training films and hop onto the fabulous YouTube (wish that was around when I was demonstrating).  This will bring new ideas and verve to everything you demo.
  • Reinvent your display – I know we all have our favourite products, but you can take along different sets of your favourites.  For example, if you normally carry a Modular Mates® Home Start Set swap it for a Modular Mates Mixed Pantry; change a Clear Mates Small Set to Clear Mates Medium. Invest in or borrow some different products like the Can Opener and Kids’ Kitchen range.
  • Themes, Themes and More Themes – I used to do a “Picnic Party” using our Dip ‘N Serve and Party Bowl as the products for entertaining outdoors. I see that your latest Host Gift Special would also fit superbly with this theme; some things don’t change, and I believe if something works well, it works well for a reason.  The ladies used to love a “Brandy Alexander” party; very sophisticated and definitely a bit of a giggle.  I’ve seen all the lovely recipes and themes available to you – who would’ve thought we would be making beauty lotions at parties!
  • Turn your Demo Upside Down – Try talking about things a different way around: If you usually talk about the Host Gifts first, talk about them last.  If you play a game last, try it first.

Tania, I hope this helps. You sound like such a great ambassador for Tupperware, and I’m glad you’re embracing the idea of keeping your demonstrations informative, fun and relevant.

Best Wishes

Brownie
