Lauren Daly -
Demonstrator of the Month

Hi Lauren, thanks for talking to Insight. What’s been your best experience as a Tupperware Demonstrator/Manager?
The best experience is not having to commute two hours to work five days a week!
I would honestly have to say, being appreciated by your Manager and rewarded by Tupperware by doing your job; it’s the best experience I’ve had in the work force.

What have you gained most from your Tupperware experience so far?
Respect, confidence and actually looking forward to your next party.

Have you had any funny experiences while in Tupperware?
I think the funniest thing that happened at a party was while I was showing the Squeeze It!. I was asked if it was a breast pump. I’ve never looked at a Squeeze It! the same way again!

What's the strangest use for Tupperware you've come across?
One person told me that when her cat had kittens she needed something that she could put food in so all kittens had their own food without using five different bowls. She used her Serving Centre and still uses it 20 years later.

What are your tips for dating parties?
If you don’t ask everyone and you pre-judge thinking they won’t say yes, then you’ve missed out on an opportunity. What’s the worst they can say?

What are your tips on dating parties within 14 days?
I have the Tupperware binder in my diary, so when booking a party I can show the potential party Host what days I have available to fit in with them without going past the two week mark. I also mention that ‘you wouldn’t take more than a few days to invite your friends over for coffee’ so there’s the opportunity to book in nice and close.

Have you got any tips for dating AT parties? What are the benefits of doing so?
You need to show any potential Hosts that it’s easy to have a party. So by suggesting ‘let me come over and cook you something fabulous out of this recipe book, and all you need to do is put the kettle on and have the girls/guys over’ its appealing as they don’t have to do much and get lots of free amazing Tupperware.
The benefit of dating at a party is the continual growth of your business. You don’t run out of parties at the end of the month, and each party can open the door to a whole new network of people.

Can you give us some tips on party planning success at your parties?
Keeping the upcoming Host motivated is always a good thing. Finding out in advance what the Host wants in way of Thank You and Host Gifts gives you a goal to work towards with them. By party planning well your Hosts can have a party date ready for you, along with outside orders for the people that couldn’t come. This all adds to the success of a good party.

How much contact do you have after party planning? What form does this contact take?
Most parties are done within a two – three week period. I would normally call the Host three days after the initial party to keep them enthusiastic about their upcoming Tupperware party. I then send a confirmation card to the Host a week before the party. I give them a day or two once they’ve received the card then call again. So, I make two phone calls and send one confirmation card for each upcoming party. If you party plan someone and them don’t speak to them again until the day, most likely they’ll lose interest and forget, or even cancel.

Do you have any hints or tips for other Demonstrators/Managers?
When trying to get party dates at a party, don’t be shy, ask every single person that attends. I once got five dates from the one party! With outside orders that your Hosts have given you, always call to confirm the order and ask them to have one of their very own Tupperware parties.

What product do you use the most at your place and why?
There are many! FridgeSmart; I now only do my fruit and veg shopping once a fortnight instead of weekly. I’m saving money and not wasting food. The Bake 2 Basics Slice Form is another favorite, as there’s no more slices sticking to the base and more money saved not having to buy baking paper.

How do you sell this product at your parties?
It’s my own little testimonial. The guests at the parties see my enthusiasm and know that it’s something that has changed my life and works.

What are the popular themes that hosts date for?
I think maybe eight out of 10 parties like to cook and make rocky road! I have a full recipe book but the rocky road seems to be the favourite.

What is the importance of having a personal program as a Demonstrator?
Consistently doing parties will improve your confidence, build your skills and help you get closer to achieving your personal goals

What is the importance of having a personal program as a Manager?
I think that it’s important to show a good example to my team. A personal program also gives me the opportunity to look for more recruits, as well as being able to take my new recruits for “on-the-job” training.

What’s been your highest United Sales in a month?
I just promoted out in week 41!

What are your business/personal goals?
My Business goals are to have a team of ten Demonstrators by December and be able to drive my own Tupperware car to sales meeting.

If you had one piece of advice for a new Demonstrator what would it be?
Go to a few parties with other Demonstrators/Managers. Take what works for you and create your own style.
