Mother's Day Classic 2009
CREATE A PINK PAGE IN HISTORY BY PARTICIPATING IN THE 2009 MOTHER’S DAY CLASSIC
Join Tupperware and an estimated 70,000 participants on Sunday, 10 May 2009, in what is expected to be the biggest ever Mother’s Day Classic.
Whether you walk or run, you’ll be making a difference by raising money to fund vital research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer, as well as increasing awareness and supporting and remembering those touched by breast cancer.
Tupperware has been supporting and empowering women in Australia since 1961 and with one in nine women being diagnosed with breast cancer during their life, Tupperware is proud to sponsor the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic for the third consecutive year.
As a Gold Sponsor, Tupperware is also encouraging you to support the cause and get fit all over Australia, including new national Mother’s Day Classic locations in 2009, Geelong (VIC) and Gold Coast (QLD). To keep all participants hydrated and on track the Company will donate over 70,000 limited edition 415ml Sports Bottles in Pink Delight.
To date, the thousands of men, women and children of all ages who participate in the Mother’s Day Classic have raised more than $4.4 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and the 2009 Mother’s Day Classic is shaping up to be the biggest fundraising initiative of its type in Australia.
The Mother’s Day Classic is organised by Women in Super, a group that provides educational and networking opportunities for women in the superannuation and finance industries.
Tupperware has been proudly pink since it joined forces with the NBCF as a platinum sponsor in August 2007 and has raised approximately half a million dollars through its various fundraising activities.
“We are delighted to continue our association with Tupperware; their support of the Mother’s Day Classic furthers our commitment to finding a cure for breast cancer. Which remains one of the most commonly occurring cancers among women in Australia; together we can make a difference” says Sharon Morris, National Manager of Mother’s Day Classic.
