Michelle Dunn -
Demonstrator of the Month

Hi Michelle, thanks for talking to us. To start, can you tell us what’s been your best experience as a Tupperware Manager?
Promoting my Demonstrators and watching them achieve their Car. My fabulous Perfectly Dunn team being #1 at Melbourne February Sessions, 2009 was very exciting too.

What have you gained most from your Tupperware experience so far?
The most important thing that I have gained is lots of friendships, my Customers, Hosts, team members and other Managers. The wonderful trips I have been privileged to be rewarded with in Tupperware, and the many friendships that have developed from these trips with other Managers over the years. My Tuppeware Business has also been very financially rewarding. My Husband even thinks he’s now allowed to buy the fishing/ski boat he’s always wanted!!!

What's the strangest use for Tupperware you've come across?
The cup on the Sports Bottle fits three mint slice biscuits, this is great at the gym! I have also seen the cup from the Sports Bottle used for a beloved dogs water bowl (on walks) when only the best will do!

What are your tips for dating parties?
Never miss an opportunity and talk about your business wherever you go. Always have a catalogue or 2 in your bag and in your Car.

What are your tips on dating parties within 14 days?
Overcome their objections by emphasizing the benefits of their friends knowing their schedules in a short space of time. I also offer a date within 2-3 days away first, as the next time slot I offer is a week or two away and this seems very doable.

Have you got any tips for dating AT parties? What are the benefits of doing so?
I find out as much as I can about my guests prior to the start of the party, so I can personalize my dating bids, e.g: For someone who works long hours in an office, I make sure that I offer them an office party during the demonstration so that everyone else can hear that this is one of their options too. The Benefits of dating at parties in that I don’t have to get on the phone as much to top up my diary. This is great use of my time at the party.

Can you give us some tips on party planning success at your parties?
Party Plan all dates together at parties (to save time and create excitement between the Hosts). ALWAYS set a specific gift goal. Always make sure your Hosts leave the party with an extensive Guest List already completed, with an asterisk next to names for the people most likely to book ( I ask the Host to call these people prior to the party, regarding booking their own party). I really encourage my Hosts to collect outside orders by emphasizing that this will help ensure that she gets the gift she wants.

How much contact do you have after party planning? What form does this contact take?
I make a phone call the next day after booking to thank them. I send lots of emails as this is usually their preference. I also send a confirmation card with the preview again, along with a personal, hand-written note (because we all still like ‘REAL’ mail in the mailbox).

Do you have any hints or tips for other Demonstrators/Managers?
Smile and be happy with everyone. Treat everyone in an equally friendly manner. Always pride yourself on your customer service and being a fun person to be around.

What product do you use the most at your place and why?
Sandwich Keeper Plus for the whole family (everyday school lunches and holidays) and the Microwave Jug, which lives in the microwave unless being cleaned.

How do you sell this product at your parties?

What are the popular themes that hosts date for?
Chocoholic, Office parties, large Fund Raisers and Roast Demonstrations with the Ultra Pro.

It’s your work time to ensure that you earn the income that you set for yourself. (Especially if you’re saving for something specific, and aren’t we all!)

What is the importance of having a personal program as a Manager?
It ensures me a regular base income and also the opportunity to date as a Manager, recruit and train my new Demonstrators, all while achieving challenges.

$200,872 United Sales

What are your business/personal goals?
Becoming an Executive Group Manager, and a Director in the future. On a personal note, I’d like a family holiday overseas and to let my husband buy his boat.

Be determined and follow the New Demonstrator Development Program.

Anything else special that you’d like to add?
Enjoy your time at the party with everyone, I often forget that I'm working as I am having so much fun. However I still try to stick to the old Tuppa rule - 'be good, be quick, be gone'. My other favourite mantra for my business is 'if you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you’ve already got'. So make some changes and reap the rewards!
