Dear Brownie
Dear Brownie
I am a new Demonstrator and am still trying to find the right words and way to incorporate recruiting bids into my demonstration without sounding stilted. I really believe that the Tupperware opportunity is terrific, however would love to share this with others whilst sounding more natural.
Please help – I am hoping to achieve a gift in Fun in the Sun promotion.

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for your letter Jenny. What a fabulous time of year to be looking at recruiting and Managership. As you develop your demonstration skills, you will also develop your ability to place recruiting bids into your demonstration without sounding stilted. There are a couple of things that I know of that can help you talk about our opportunity.
Think about your demonstration as selling three things:
- The Product
- The Party
- The Position
Each of these aspects of our business is just as important as the other:
- Selling the product generates your income
- Selling the party generates your ongoing business
- Selling the position ensures your business grows and develops
You can also pop the following three things into your demonstration:
- A testimonial – it’s very easy to talk about why you became a demonstrator and what you hope to and have already achieved. Your guests want to know you.
- A recruiting bid with your favourite products – this could be Modular Mates®, for example. This gives you a segue to talk about how Tupperware Demonstrators receive a discount on the products.
- A personal invitation to get more information – a lovely way of doing this is to pick two people at each party and give them a copy of our Imagine brochure saying “I think you would be terrific doing what I am doing, take this home and read it in bed and don’t be surprised if you get a call”
It is then essential to give the name and phone number of these people to your Manager straight after the party so they can be contacted.
It is a fabulous thing to share your passion for your business with everyone; but it is very important not to prejudge. Would you stop a lawyer or your GP from buying Modular Mates because you thought they were too well educated or already had a good career? Prejudging someone’s circumstances when selling any of our three “P’s” is cutting yourself short and not fair to our customers. I firmly believe anyone can be successful in our wonderful business.
My fervent desire is to see as many people offered the Tupperware opportunity this year – the year is not over yet. Make sure you revamp and personalise your party to your guests including your recruiting bids and develop this side of your business whilst you are so busy partying. It will help make 2012 a joy for you.
Best Wishes
Brownie.
