Sandra Romano -
Demonstrator of the Month

Hi Sandra, thanks for talking to us. To start, what week did you promote to be a manager? And when did you qualify for your car?
I promoted in week 6, 2009 and qualified for my car in week 11.

What’s been your best experience as a Tupperware Manager?
The pride in building my team. Watching them blossom and develop confidence in doing things they didn’t think they could achieve.

What have you gained most from your Tupperware experience so far?
Knowing I have nothing to lose by giving it a go! The training is great, as is working with my fellow managers, I’m always learning. Income, recognition and the sense of satisfaction I have when my team members receive their recognition.

Have you had any funny experiences while in Tupperware?
Absolutely! Having a host’s cat jump onto me and then into my kit bag. Coincidentally, the cat’s name was Bullet.

What's the strangest use for Tupperware you've come across?
Modular mate oval seals for collecting excess paint on ceiling cornices.

What are your tips for dating parties?
Promoting the host and thank you gifts and giving guests a fun experience with me.

What are your tips for dating parties within 14 days?
Create desire of a product. By passing around the Thank You Gift for your guests to hold and by talking about its benefits you have created the desire for them to want it too. This helps you and your host. It’s a win/win situation.

Have you got any tips for dating AT parties? What are the benefits of doing so?
I aim to double date, as I am always working for my host. I always display the hosts’ gift of choice and throughout my demonstration, I show the guests what the host wants to achieve and that they can have it too. I use many dating bids, mentioning various recipes as well as the different types of parties. I am usually guaranteed to spark interest from a few of my guests.

What product do you use the most in your home and why?
Fridgesmart and Modular Mates. With two young children, having my food stay fresh and last longer means I always have something on hand to cook with.

How do you sell this product at your parties?
I ask my customers if their pantry or fridge needs a “makeover”. By investing in these products they are saving money and time by having food that lasts so much longer. In today’s busy times, who doesn’t want this?

What are the popular themes that hosts date for?
Taste of Tupperware parties are usually a hit for me, especially the Decadent Chocolate Dip. These parties are the best way to demonstrate our fabulous product range and I always get my guests to help.

What is the importance of having a personal program as a Demonstrator?
Meeting lots of people creates more opportunity to date, recruit and achieve Friendship Club and Executive Demonstrator status. You also get regular income, rewards and recognition.

What is the importance of having a personal program as a Manager?
I’m leading the way for my team, and gaining regular income. It also provides me with a positive environment to hold group interviews, which enables team growth.

What’s been your highest personal sales in a month?
$12,493

What’s been your highest united sales in a month?
$72,400

What are your business/personal goals?
Business: to be the best manager I can for my team and work towards EM. Personal: paying mortgage and an overseas family holiday.

If you had one piece of advice for a new Demonstrator what would it be?
Take advantage of the fantastic training Tupperware has to offer, be yourself at parties and have fun!

What do you like about driving a Tupperware Manager Car?
Everything! It’s our team trophy on wheels and constantly reminds me that anything is possible when you believe you can achieve.

What was the main reason you became a Manager?
To enjoy the financial benefits for my family and prove to myself that I can enjoy being a working mum!

When did you promote your first manager?
Describe the feeling being part of helping this person achieve their goal? It was surreal to become a promoting manager only 2 weeks after I promoted. It was a rewarding experience and I was very proud to see my first recruit and fellow MIT achieve her goal and take on her new management role with such determination.

What words of advice can you offer those considering Managership?
Believe in yourself and everything that you do. Work closely with other MIT’s to get different ideas and extra encouragement. Be prepared to pick yourself up and dust yourself off when obstacles may get in the way.

Anything else special that you’d like to add?
I love what Tupperware has done for me and my family. The journey so far has been fast yet extremely rewarding. There isn’t another job out there that enables me to be there for my two children (5 years) and (13 months) and provide great income, flexibility and opportunity. I never thought I would grow up and be a tupperware lady and now I tell everyone that it’s fabulous!
