Jennnifer Cutajar -
Demonstrator of the Month
Hi Jennifer, thanks for talking to us today. First off, can you tell us a little about your background before you joined Tupperware?
I previously worked in various areas of the hospitality industry. This requires a high level of customer satisfaction, and probably helped shaped my commitment to excellent customer service now. I have always managed to have a couple jobs going at the same time (even as a teenager) to accommodate the social/financial aspects in my life, even though I had quite generous parents. As well as being a Tupperware manager I currently work in our family business and have been for over 14 years. During this time, I have married and have two beautiful boys Connor & Dylan.
Why did you decide to join Tupperware and what do you love about the business opportunity?
To be honest I was never a huge fan of Tupperware, but that was because I knew very little about the product! A friend of mine decided to join Tupperware and I offered to host a party for her. It was a successful party, selling over $1500.00. A year went by and I passed a kiosk in my area and a few products caught my attention. It then started to play on my mind...'should I become a Tupperware demonstrator just to get the products I want at a discount.' So that night whilst lying in my bed, I shared the thought with my husband, his response....'How will you find time between managing the business and the two boys?’ I reassured him it would only be a short term hobby until I complete my pantry......Well it didn't exactly work out like that, because now I LOVE the product and all of the other benefits.
Within 12 months, I promoted out to an Associate Manager with the chosen team name 'Diamond Addiction' (I achieved Diamond in December!). I then qualified for the Manager car 7 weeks later. At this stage, I came to the realisation that Tupperware was no longer a hobby, this meant business! Two of my many highlights thus far in my Tupperware career was being recognised as #1 New Manager in Personal Sales at last year’s Manager Conference and being recognised at #6 in United Sales at the recent February Sessions. What drives me in Tupperware are the challenges, recognition and most of all, immense satisfaction I feel as play an active role in improving other’s lives.
What has managership done for you and your family?
Within 2 years, I have earned enough money to treat myself to the occasional shopping expedition, take the family to Disneyland, a family Xmas in FIJI and private education for my boys. Not forgetting my husband’s purchases: motorbike, Mustang etc.....! Tupperware has allowed us to obtain the extraordinary things in life.
You have great time management skills – how do you juggle all the balls and achieve consistent success?
I try to be as organised as I can, have a daily to-do list and a weekly planner which is essential. Being a flexible job I am able to work around my other commitments. I try and spend exactly what time I need on my Tupperware business, in order to achieve whatever goals I am working for, without allowing other parts of my life to be out of balance. With a plan I am more efficient and focused on my goals. I schedule everything so I have a clear amount of time allocated.
I get satisfaction at having a few tasks going at the one time. I am quite a structured person, this helped me to build my business to where is today, to helps me get to where I want tomorrow!
When Beijing was announced, what plans did you put into action to achieve this goal?
When Beijing was announced, I made the decision that I was going no matter what it took to get there. I broke the challenge down so I knew what I needed to achieve each week to be on pace. I set aside time for work and play and was strict with my diary, ensuring I had enough 'Tupperware work time'. I needed to ensure I held my consistent programme to so I set time aside for weekly follow up/contact with booked-in hosts, as well as the time to call potential new hosts, ensuring their gift goal was always top of mind and written in my diary too. I also worked very closely with my MIT, Michelle…and she has also qualified for Beijing with her partner, which is so rewarding for me to be able to share this experience with Michelle also.
